Observations: Our tank is still cloudy, but the cloudiness is yet again slowly disappearing. The fish are doing well in the slightly cloudy water as evidenced by of the lack of ammonia burns and safe pH. Basil roots have all grown through the hydroton-filled net pots. Luckily, the fish are not eating the roots. The basil is showing little growth and the cilantro seeds still have not opened. It is difficult to tell the reason as to why the plants are struggling to grow. It may be attributed to a very high intensity growth light (ultraviolet).

Quantitative Observations:

Additionally, one of our six fish have died. This may have been caused by the mysteriously cloudy water or lack of oxygen as a result of our broken air pump. |
